I lost touch with her in the winter of 1995. I thought she was mad at me for getting her a job at a place she turned out not to like. Many times I've searched for her: through Facebook, people finder, etc. Recently I found her little brother. He's not so little anymore, 39 now. He told me she passed away the following year in a hiking accident. I didn't know. I'm very relieved that she hasn't been holding a grudge for 20+ years. I'm also sad that we will never have a day that we reunite. I've been looking forward to that day for a long time.

I'm sorry to hear this-- what strange feelings you must have about all of it. I'm sure no one would blame you if they ended up not liking something you recommend, though-- Things aren't always what they seem.
I'm glad you have answers, though I'm sure you'll have some grieving, as well, and I wish you the best in that process. *love*
