I'm moved by the turnout and the stories. I don't want to say too much because people are so passionate about their side, for or against. They are just asking for compromise though. Just sayin'. Anyway... they are brave and organized, galvanized and focused. This isn't a fly-by-night whim. It's real.

I loved a lot of what I saw. I especially appreciated the moments when the loss of black lives were mentioned-- whether by cop or someone else's gun, more black people are killed in the U.S. than any other skin color. It's freakin' ridiculous. Living in Chicago and watching things unfold all these years in one particular neighborhood opened my eyes to many aspects of this issue I hadn't considered before moving here.
